Copenhagen, Denmark
Interior concept and customized fittings for a multi-brand luxury menswear store within the historic Illum department store with strong, clean lines and an almost monochromatic color palette that allows the clothes to take center stage. Three existing columns became part of a series of scaled-up blocks, making strong architectural gestures as well as aiding navigation. Taking inspiration from the Milanese entrances, the fitting rooms have curved walls and furniture in dark blue as a contrast to the neutral tones. Custom pieces include sandblasted aluminium tables up to six meters long, metal boxes engraved with the brand name and concrete seating cubes. Lighting panels normally used in grid ceilings create lines of light along the ceiling where ventilation pipes run over the original stucco.
