The PLATE kitchen for Reform, a Danish company that collaborates with Danish and internationally acclaimed architects to produce high quality, timeless kitchen designs using Ikea cabinets and joinery. PLATE has a pared back minimalist expression based around using aluminum in an honest way. The name PLATE is inspired by the cabinet fronts in which two plates of aluminum are sandwiched around a core of black Valchromat. The aluminum plates are left with an exposed edge to offer a sense of sharpness when the cabinet is open, and are offset to form the door’s handle. The cabinet fronts come in three finishes – hand-brushed aluminum left raw or painted in powder coated or high gloss in white or chocolate brown. These can be combined with one of three counter tops – hand-brushed steel, a Belgian stone and a Baltic brown honed granite from Norway.
