Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition

‘The Meeting Room’, is a public bench composed of four rectangular pieces of terrazzo, surrounded by coloured plexiglass backrests. Created for the ‘Side by side Outside’ exhibition in the garden of the Danish Design Museum, the bench addresses the question: “How can furniture promote human encounters in the public space?”. Physically closed but visually open it simultaneously incorporates concepts of furniture, sculpture and space. People can gather and interact with one another face-to-face, confident or in a corner.
